• It’s Valentine’s Day and Kenneth confronts Shari about Nathan and Shari accuses Kenneth of still being connected to Elizabeth. Kenneth leaves to cool off and heads for his sister, Jenna’s place.
• Using Patrick as a confidant, Tess shares how sad the state of her love life is, when she comes upon an intriguing personal ad in The Stranger.
• Tess’ mom Kikako visits. Zane offers to take Tess and Kikako out to lunch in the International District (I.D.). Tess and Zane drag a hesitant Patrick along for the ride.
• Colin and Jenna have decided to take some time apart and Colin moves out of Jenna’s apartment. While it’s a difficult decision for Jenna, she is excited that she can see Nathan more freely now.
• Shari confides in Nathan about her blow-up with Kenneth. Nathan shares his excitement about Jenna finally being available. Nathan leaves to meet Jenna and Shari decides to join him.
• Elizabeth runs into Jenna at Gossip, an Asian American bubble tea café in the I.D. Things are still awkward between them.
• After a tense drive to the I.D., Tess insists on picking up a bubble tea before lunch and bumps into Elizabeth and Jenna. Jenna tries to convince Tess that the kiss between them shouldn’t ruin their friendship. Still unsure, Tess self-consciously hugs Jenna and leaves.
• Kenneth, who gave Jenna a ride to Gossip, asks Elizabeth if they can talk. Kenneth tells her about his fight with Shari and Elizabeth comforts him.
• Jenna encourages Shari to go inside Gossip, where she finds Kenneth and Elizabeth deep in conversation. Shari flies off the handle at both Kenneth and Elizabeth. Nathan enters and is confronted by Kenneth. Shari storms off, and Nathan chases after her while Kenneth apologizes to Elizabeth for his wife’s behavior.
• Nathan is disappointed with Jenna for setting up the situation in the first place.
• Colin runs into Jenna and Nathan and Jenna accidentally calls him “Nathan” which upsets both guys. Colin realizes their trial separation was so she could see Nathan and he officially breaks off their relationship completely. Nathan also leaves Jenna so that he can find Shari.
• Meanwhile, George is jealous when he sees Elizabeth with Kenneth and after Kenneth leaves, George finally reveals his true feelings for her. Elizabeth is surprised by the depth of George’s feelings, but can’t return them. Crushed, George tells Elizabeth he can’t see her anymore.
• Kikako spends lunch bragging about Tess’ older sister Marissa. Both Patrick and Zane try their best to keep Tess and Kikako from bickering.
• Kenneth runs into Colin drinking at a bar. Colin complains about losing another woman to the “white man.” Kenneth convinces Colin that he still has a 90% chance of getting Jenna back. Thrilled, Colin rushes off.
• Later that evening, a dejected George watches Dawson’s Creek, Elizabeth grades papers, Jenna gets drunk, Shari waits for Kenneth, and Tess is a third wheel on a dinner date with Zane and Patrick. The moms of all four gals call to check up on their daughters.
• Shari stays up all night waiting for Kenneth to come home.
• Elizabeth gets a call from Kenneth.
• Someone knocks on Jenna’s door. Still groggy and drunk, Jenna thinks it’s Colin and tells him how much she loves him, only to discover that the man she’s kissing is actually Nathan.
