11/5/2001 - 11/20/2001
· Jenna has dinner with her ex, Nathan, and bumps into Elizabeth who’s out on a date with William, the Chinese American guy she ran into at Bush Garden. Elizabeth is suspicious about Nathan’s motives. · Tess finally meets Patrick, her phone sex guy, in person, but they completely miss each other at first because he didn’t expect her to be Asian American and she didn’t expect him to be black. · Shari gives Kenneth the silent treatment to punish him for calling out Elizabeth’s name during sex, while Kenneth does everything he can to please Shari and make up. · William is nice, but ignites no sparks with Elizabeth. When she gets home, George drops by and they spend the evening getting to know each other and discover their common angst about being single and their mutual love for Shakespeare and poetry. · Jenna and Nathan drop in on Kenneth and Shari. Nathan used to be Kenneth’s best friend when they were kids, until their huge fight after Nathan dumped Jenna for another woman. They make up and reminisce about old times. · While out with Patrick, Tess sees Zane with another woman and is pissed because he told her he was out with friends. She still can’t understand his sudden interest in white women, and why he isn’t interested in her. · Nathan confesses to Jenna that he still loves her and wants her back. But she’s feeling guilty about Colin, especially when she finds out from Kenneth that Colin’s been looking for her everywhere. Somehow the note she left for Colin mysteriously disappeared after Nathan happened to see it. · Despite the confusion of their first meeting, Tess and Patrick hit it off and are both completely attracted to each other. Then Patrick tells Tess that he’s bi-sexual. · All four women share in their diaries their deepest thoughts. Shari can’t see what it is about Elizabeth that Kenneth finds fascinating and ponders whether they did ever have sex and why his mother hates her so much. Elizabeth wonders if she’ll ever meet the right guy and whether she should start dating someone she normally wouldn’t, but she doesn’t want to displease her parents either. Jenna can’t decide between Nathan or Colin. Tess wonders if she should become a lesbian.
