SIS Productions presents the Premiere of
Sex in Seattle
Episode 15: The Anatomy of Love

October 19 - November 10, 2007

SIS Productions is excited to present the premiere of Sex in Seattle, Episode 15: The Anatomy of Love running October 19 - November 10, 2007 playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and 10:30pm. All performances will be at the Richard Hugo House located at 1634 11th Avenue (11th Avenue, off of Pine Street) on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $8 for students / seniors / actors. Group rates are also available. There will also be a preview performance on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 8pm. Sex in Seattle is Seattle's longest-running, original episodic theatre show about four contemporary Asian American women, their lives and their relationships! Discover what love means to each of our sassy gals in Episode 15: The Anatomy of Love - a smart and sexy theatre show with a sense of humor.

Sex in Seattle, Episode 15: The Anatomy of Love is written by Kathy Hsieh, with the storylines created by Kathy Hsieh and Dawn Pearse and directed by ShawnJ West. Featuring Jose Abaoag, Daniel Arreola, Ulric Dihle, Kathy Hsieh, Justin Lockwood, Travis Myers, Lisa Marie Nakamura, Serin Ngai, Miko Premo and Paul Yoo. Produced by Lorna Chin, Kathy Hsieh, Chris Monsos and Miko Premo.

SIS Productions is a production company that strives to create, develop and produce quality works that involve Asian American women, their themes, and Asian American issues. SIS Productions encourages opportunities and support for Asian American women to be involved in all aspects of the production of artistic endeavors.

Sex in Seattle is a dynamic, groundbreaking episodic theatre show that aims to:
• Portray contemporary Asian Americans in a truer light, reflecting our diversity and uniqueness of being both Asians and Americans.
• Believably address and explore the issues of womanhood ~ sexuality, struggles, identity, relationships, perceptions, and more, using humor and drama.

OPENING NIGHT GALA:
Join the Sex in Seattle Cast for a gala reception and opening night party after the 8:00pm performance and before the 10:30pm performance on Friday, October 19. Admission to the gala is free with an opening night ticket to the show.

MIX ‘N MINGLE NIGHT:
Join us Friday, October 26 between the 8:00pm and the 10:30pm performances for fun-filled mingling with some Sex in Seattle cast & crew and other fellow SIS fans! Win fabulous prizes!

Bios:
Jose Abaoag (Colin Kameoka) lives on Capitol Hill and played Colin in Episodes 11 - 14. His local credits include Martin in References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot at the Empty Space, Paul in A Chorus Line with ReAct, and Ballou in Snow with New City Theatre. Jose has been touring with Book-it Repertory Theatre's educational program in Danger: Books!, Cinderella Stories, and Ereth's Birthday and appeared in Book-It's premiere of Edna Ferber's Giant. Since graduating from Cornish College of the Arts, he has also performed with the Northwest Asian American Theatre, Open Door Theatre, and the Seattle Public Theatre.

Nathan Wade Anderson (Theme Song Composer) lives in Magnolia. Nathan was the sound designer for Episodes 3, 4, 5 and 9. Nathan also composed the catchy Sex in Seattle theme song. Nathan has provided music and sound for: Annex, ArtsWest, Book-It, Capitol Hill Arts Center, Consolidated Works, Empty Space Theatre, NWAAT, Open Circle, Re-Bar, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company and the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville.

Lorna Chin (Co-Executive Producer / Co-Producer) was born in Honolulu, HI and resides in West Seattle. She has been a co-producer since Episode 1 in different capacities. Lorna serves on the ReAct board, volunteers at the Make-A-Wish Foundation and raises funds for the animals at Woodland Park Zoo. Lorna graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1997.

Ulric Dihle (Adam Jensen) lives in North Seattle and played Adam in Episode 14. His previous work includes The Joy Luck Club with ReEAct and other independent films.

Audrey R. Fan (PR/Sponsorships Manager) was born in Honolulu, HI and lives in North Seattle. Audrey appeared as Tess in Episodes 1, 2 (understudy), 4, 5, the encore staged readings of Episode 1 & 2, Episodes 6, 7,10 and 11. She has also been an Assistant Producer since Episode 6. Audrey has also performed and choreographed at other theater companies such as: ReAct, NWAAT, Village Theatre, Civic Light Opera, Driftwood Theatre and Bellevue/Renton Civic Theater. Audrey is a graduate from the University of Washington.

Rachel Foote (Stage Manager) was born in Bakersfield, California and lives in Lake City. Rachel stage managed Episodes 11 - 14 and has worked at various other theatres in Seattle, most recently with SketchFest and PFP.

Marilyn Gonzalez (Properties Designer) lives in North Seattle. Marilyn was the Stage Manager for Episode 1, Assistant Stage Manager who also played the character Lucy in Episode 2 and Properties Designer for Episodes 10 - 14. She has worked with numerous companies including ReAct and volunteers at Driftwood Players.

Wendy Hammatt (Lighting Designer) was the lighting designer for Episodes 7, 8. Wendy has also designed lights for Grand Night for Singing, Rough Crossing, Bedroom Farce, Journey's End and many more. By day, Wendy is a manager at PNTA.

Kathy Hsieh (Co-Conceiver / Co-Creator / Playwright / Co-Executive Producer / Co-Producer / Elizabeth Ko) was born in Logan, UT and resides on Beacon Hill. Kathy has been involved with SIS Productions from the beginning as the co-conceiver, co-creator and co-producer. She has also played Elizabeth in all but two Episodes, and wrote Episode 5: Intimate Secrets (which was produced in Vancouver, B.C. in 2005), Episode 8: Doin' It Again (which premiered in Vancouver, B.C. in February), Episode 9: Little White Lies, Episode 10: Action Fantasies! (which she also directed), Episode 11: The Ultimate Dating Challenge and Episode 12: My Ultra Quirky Asian American Wedding. An award-winning actor, director and writer, Kathy works as the Community Liaison for the Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs for the City of Seattle. She has worked with many of the theatres in Seattle including ReAct, Seattle Rep, ACT, Empty Space, Intiman, Book-It, TAG, CLO and many more. In her spare time she helps out at Seattle Shakespeare Company, Freehold and Living Voices. Kathy is a graduate from the University of Washington.

Justin Lockwood (George Weiss Varon) is working with SIS Productions for the first time. Justin has also worked with ReAct.

Christopher Monsos (Co-Producer) lives in West Seattle and previously worked as a stage manager for Episode 9 and also worked tech for Episodes 7, 8. Chris has also worked with Village Theatre and Exchange Theatre.

Travis Myers (Nathan Wychovsky) lives on Capitol Hill and played Nathan in Episodes 4, 5, 6, 13, 14 and was in Cowboy Versus Samurai. He was also in Fiddler On The Roof, Romeo and Juliet, Six Degrees of Separation, I'm Not Rapport and Catch 22.

Lisa Marie Nakamura (Co-Creator / Co-Executive Producer/ Tess Matsudaira) was born in Seattle and lives in West Seattle. She has been a co-producer since Episode 1 and was the fight choreographer in Episodes 2, 3, 10 and the encore staged readings of Episode 2as well as Co-Creator since Episode 9. Lisa has acted, fought and choreographed fights all over the Northwest.

Serin Ngai (Jenna Sheng) lives in Madison Park and was the original playwright of Sex in Seattle who co-created and wrote Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7. Serin returns to the role of Jenna she originated and played in Episodes 1-4, 6, 11. Serin was also one of the original executive producers of SIS Productions and her plays have been seen on stage in Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. In addition to playwriting, Serin has appeared in independent films, print work, and performed with ReAct, Seattle Public Theater, Experimental Theater Project and Book-It Repertory. Serin is also an attorney who practices family law and general civil litigation.

Dawn Pearse (Co-Creator) was born in Pueblo, Colorado and lives in West Seattle. Dawn has been a creator since Episode 10: Action Fantasies! and directed Episode 6: Vicious Valentines and Episode 8: Doin’ It Again. Other directing credits include: Three Deaths in Denmark (GREX), Good News About Sweatshop Shoes (True History Theater), and Blood Wedding and Man Equals Man (Highline Community College). Dawn is the Associate Artistic Director for GREX, and received her M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

Wendy Polidori (Graphic Designer) lives in Mukilteo and is working with SIS Productions for the first time. Wendy is a freelance graphic designer who also has graced the stages of ReAct and other local companies.

Miko Premo (Chloe / Producer) was born and raised in Seattle and currently resides on Beacon Hill. Miko directed Episode 12 and has played Shari in Episodes 6 - 11. Miko also coordinated costumes since Episode 7 and is on staff for SIS Productions. Miko is a graduate of New York University and she acts, directs and costume designs. She has worked with various theatres around town including Sight Nine Theatre Company, Exchange Theatre, Theatre Schmeater, West Seattle Kids Theatre at ArtsWest, where she directed The Judas Kiss by David Hare.

Roger Tang (Sound Designer / Literary Manager) was born in Phoenix, AZ and lives in Shoreline. Roger was the Sound Designer for Episodes 10 - 14, the Properties Designer for Episodes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and an Assistant Producer for the encore staged readings of Episodes 1 & 2. Roger is also Literary Manager for SIS Productions. Roger began as a designer for David Henry Hwang and Philip Kan Gotanda, and continued as a producer of the Northwest premieres of Gotanda’s Dream of Kitamura, Genny Lim’s Paper Angels and Hwang’s Bondage. He has taught Asian American history at the UW and was instrumental in building the Theatre Off Jackson. Called the “Godfather of Asian American theatre” by A. Magazine, Producer for the Pork Filled Players, sits on the board at Repertory Actors Theatre, edits the Asian American Theatre Revue and administers both the aa-drama and the Seattle Asian Pacific American Artists' Group mailing lists. Roger is an employee at the University of Washington.

Tom Tran (Asst. Producer) was born in Saigon, Vietnam, grew up in Issaquah, and currently resides in Leschi. Tom was the Assistant Stage Manager for Episodes 5 and 9, Assistant Producer for the encore staged readings of Episodes 1 & 2, Episode 6 and Episode 7 and Producer since Episode 8. Tom graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Computer Science and works for Nintendo.

ShawnJ West (Director) makes his directorial debut with Sex in Seattle, Episode 15. ShawnJ (pronounced Shawnjae) played Patrick in Episode 6 and helped choreograph Episode 12. ShawnJ had a 10 year stint in Sacramento CA, performing in productions of Grease, West Side Story, Psycho Beach Party, Baby w/ the Bath Water and his favorite role Raul in Extremities. He has also worked with ReAct in many productions; most recently was 2006's hit production of The Last Sunday in June. Other PNW productions have included Nude with Violin, Pandora's Box, The Last Hairdresser, A Chorus Line, All in The Timing, A Raisin in The Sun, Guys and Dolls, The Sizemore Interviews and The Book of Liz, to name a few.

Rick Wong (PR Photographer) was born in Seattle, lives on Beacon Hill and has worked with Sex in Seattle since Episode 2. Rick freelances as a photographer and videographer and teaches at Seattle Central Community College. His photos have been exhibited at the Paris Air Shows, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, the Wing Luke Asian Museum, Seattle Central Community College, the King County Arts Commission, the Washington State Convention Center, and featured in national magazines such as Sunset and KoreAm. His work was recently selected for inclusion in the national issue of America 24/7.

Paul Yoo (Video Director of Photography / Kenneth Sheng) is working with SIS Productions for the first time. He was previously seen in ReAct's You Can't Take It With You and KPROduction’s Breathing Space.
